Conversion and transformation of two barns and a stable into unique facilities for coorporations and workspace.
Corporate Campus Ledreborg is a conceptual idea for future use of former agricultural buildings on the estate of Ledreborg Castle.
The estate contains various historic buildings in different style and age with a unique landscape setting and modern leisure facilities.
The former agricultural buildings are designed for traditionally use and therefore out of date for that purpose. This project seeks to make a concrete proposal of how these historical barns and stables can be transformed while still preserved for modern use and to create a special campus for a company between the historic and up-to-date.
The barns and stables will be restored and renewed so their original features will be a part of the new design, creating a unique atmosphere for a future workplace. Certain parts are preserved while others changed and updated in order to make an efficient and flexible design for the use and organization of the buildings.
The new Corporate Campus Ledreborg will be a starting point for creating new dynamics and life close to the estate and its near surroundings.
This can revitalize the area and help to preserve and restore the historic buildings that would otherwise continue their gradual decay while being scarcely used.
Instead the project rethinks how rustic, post-industrial farm houses can be utilized as attractors for new settings of modern workspace.
The majority of Ledreborg Castle and it's landscape is made as a baroque composition, here with the two barns in the middle and the cow stable seperated to the far right.
Concept:
The old barns are reorganized from within adapting to the original structure while keeping the outside changes as minimal as possible to preserve the original apperance and symmetry.
The cow stable will be added with a complete new floor and roof that which is placed within the existing brick gabels, that creates new lighting conditions and an atrium. From outside the transformation will be clearly visible upon arrival at Ledreborg.
Kornladen (Barn 1):
The traditional inner corn silo is reorganized into new spaces and facilities while the exterior is made into workspace with best light conditions making it possible to walk around the ground floor.
The upper floor is opened in the each long side to provide additional light and a sense of open space between the floors.

Gildeladen (Barn 2):
The barn have already been altered in the past and consist today of one single space. The transformation keeps one part of the space clear for the use of cantine and main meeting room. The other part is organized with a new core and extra floor, where a seperate entrance and reception to the higher grounds next to the building can be made.

Kostalden (the Stable):
As a former stable for cows the building have a larger area which is lowered on the ground floor as well as an asymmetric structure and plan with one longside for human entry and another for the cows.
The imprint is kept as a way to organize the workspace in the centre of the building with the facilities located in both ends. An entire new floor is made with openings to provide daylight for both floors making the centre ground floor space the meeting point of the building.
